Oh, these beautiful kids of the McDonald’s campaign. The idea was to create strong portraits of these real McDonald’s workers who got their first job at McDonalds, still worked at McDonalds and were now doing wonderfully ambitious things with their lives. For these images the client wanted us to create portraits that weren’t smiley and beaming, but they wanted us to find “emotional depth”. I always thought that type of thing came easy to me as a photographer, but of course when you are chasing something it always seems more elusive than you thought.
